  1. Yup, I'm sure people besides me prayed for God's will to be done in this election and so we have it–Obama it is! This morning my thoughts went to these hymns: \”I Am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus\” and \”Jesus, The Very Thought of Thee.\”

  2. I think now the conversation should turn to how do we live as Christians under President Obama's next term. Our calling to be salt in light has not changed and we need to be about the business of honoring God with our conduct…including how we handle this results from this election.

  3. If anything else this election has done, it has brought me to my knees to pray for God's protection of this nation. The Lord is in control of every area of our lives and of this country. May God be merciful and give us urgency to be in continual prayer for God's will to be done.

  4. My prayer is that it will spur the Church on to truly living out the Gospel so that in four years we have a stronger voice and a clearer choice. Pray without ceasing…

  5. Interesting. A friend of mine just sent me this chapter and urged me to e-mail it to Obama. Probably won't do that, but did like being prompted to read it again.

  6. I like the little reminder that always seems to come to me in times like this…\”Never underestimate the power of prayer.\” At times I feel so helpless. Small. Weak. But…I DO have help, strength and power if I'm just willing to ask for it.

  7. Funny how we act as if prayer is our last resort instead of being our first defense isn't it? I think we must know what to pray for though and I think that's where we get tripped up…we pray what we think would be good but His ways are not our ways so sometimes that's upside down.

  8. I'm sure that is true in some cases although I think the Church should step up and take some responsibility…we've raised up a generation that can't tell the difference between Christians and non-Christians other than a regular Sunday morning appointment. But I say we keep praying! Knowing and trusting that God is working out His perfect will 🙂
